Everyone Needs Help

Advisors

Two heads are better than one. It’s difficult making decisions on a daily basis and often wonder if you are making the right decision.

Advisors are invested in the success of your business. They are there for you when you have a difficult decision to make and you need someone to talk to. They won’t give you the answers you want to hear. Instead, they will walk you through scenarios and then you will make the final decision.

It is a pleasure to be working with such talented people.

Peter Stewart – In Memory

I was honoured to have Peter as both an advisor and a friend. He believed in and supported my work. Peter was well known and respected in the Ottawa business community and is remembered for his genuine interest in helping others.

With over 30 years of experience in the Ottawa business community, Peter brought a wealth of experience to entrepreneurs. His entire career had been focused on helping businesses grow. A native of Montreal, Peter started in commercial real estate after his graduation from Carleton University in 1986. During his seven years in commercial real estate, Peter gained a wealth of knowledge on Ottawa and local business. In 1993, Peter opened the second franchise of Mail Boxes Etc in Ottawa that catered to the needs of small businesses. As an independent franchisee, he was responsible for staffing, marketing, and developing his business. He enjoyed working with his primary customer base of small business owners and helping them with the challenges they faced. Upon selling his store, he then took on the role of the Eastern Ontario Area Manager for MBE overseeing twenty franchised locations, and their subsequent rebranding to become The UPS Store.

In 2006, Peter became the first Executive Director of the Orléans Chamber of Commerce whose mandate is to promote and strengthen local businesses in the east end of Ottawa. In July 2010, Peter joined the OCRI Entrepreneurship Centre (now known as Invest Ottawa) as a business advisor for growth-stage companies. His commitment to helping entrepreneurs led to him becoming the Manager of Entrepreneurship Services in 2013, overseeing all the services and staff supporting early-stage entrepreneurs.

In May 2016, he stepped down from that role to begin his own business coaching practice. Peter was able to draw from his previous management and professional experience, as well as his local knowledge, which lent itself well for entrepreneurs looking for practical business advice and guidance.
